Clarens Craft Beer Festival 2026
In Clarens town with mountains near;
We raise a glass of frothy cheer;
to good friends, loud laughs and lots of beer;
What a hoppy festival it was this year!
It was a most enjoyable Clarens Beer Festival this weekend! There were so many beer and cider options this year! It was difficult to decide what to taste!
I liked the watermelon beer and the ginger beer (Rascal) from The Gin Co. According to the Clarens Craft Beerfest website, this is the most variety of beers they’ve ever had!
I’m so glad Ouma Jane could make it, that Oumie could share a room with her, and that there was space with Algoa Shuttles for the right dates. She had a beery good birthday!
The weather was good! It only started pouring down late on Saturday just before the gates closed. Anashti and I rained ‘papsopnat’ trying to spend the last 2 tokens!
Seems like the kids are too big for the jumping castle now and too young just to sit around. Oup and Dakkie took them to Clarens Xtreme Adventures on Saturday which they enjoyed so much they begged to go back this morning!
It’s fun to see what everyone was wearing! There were people dressed as bananas, vikings, hobbits and chickens. Our group wore grey “Eish” shirts with red hats that say “I need beer.” The red hats could be spotted from far away!

Die krane het geloop en die skuim het gestaan,
dit was ’n naweek wat nie sommer sal vergaan!
Met ’n koue in die hand en ’n laggie op die mond,
het ons die kuier-gees behoorlik gevind.
Dankie aan elkeen wat die pret kom deel het,
van die vroeë proe tot die laaste pret.
Die musiek was hard en die samesyn goud,
herinneringe gemaak vir jonk en vir oud.
Die glase is leeg en die tente is toe,
ons voete is dalk ’n bietjie moeg.
Maar die hart is vol en die dors is geblus,
tot die volgende bierfees – dis ’n uitgemaakte kus!

Clarens BeerFest 2014 This was our first Beer Festival!
Clarens BeerFest 2015 We celebrated my mom’s 60th birthday. We all slept what is now Clarens Retreat but it was still a house with a big lounge area where the restaurant is now.
Clarens BeerFest 2016 I was pregnant and designated driver by default.

Clarens BeerFest 2022 This was when the BeerFest was in May. It was freezing! The beers were cold, yes, but so was everything else!
Clarens BeerFest 2025 This was the year of Beer Jesus. People even recognized Marcus in 2026…
