Carol’s 60th Birthday Celebration: a Fairytale at Biljoni’s

“Why did the 60-year-old woman bring a ladder to her birthday party? Because it’s all about reaching new heights at this age!”

These salmon-prawn-avo delights were part of the starters. The food was next level!
Happy Birthday, Dakkie!

This was the event we were looking forward to for quite some time… And it was everything we imagined it could be and more!

Carol’s celebration was held at Biljoni’s, Ladybrand. Ronel was the chef and chief co-ordinator of the event. Ronel and her team beautified the venue! There were sparkling lights and balloons twinkling all over and Driekie’s tent really set the mood for a Fairytale event.

Carol, or Dakkie as the kids call her, always looks beautiful. She looked particularly beautiful that night in her shimmery jacket and boots. The dress code was semi-formal with some shimmer and it was fun to see that all the guests added shimmer to their outfits in different and creative ways.

Ronel’s food exceeded my expectations! I don’t think I’ve ever had such impressive and delicious food at an event. The starters already impressed me and then special waitrons came holding trays of one yummy treat after the next. We were constantly tasting something different. One thing that stood out for me was that the food was fresh and served just as it’s made.

The speeches were short, sweet and from the heart. We lit the candles on the cake that Leo made and sang ‘Happy Birthday!’ Everyone mingled, chatted and kuiered. There was also glow-in-the-dark putt-putt!

As the evening progressed there was clean dancing, fun dancing and dirty dancing .  Oup even ‘bederfed’ us by doing the ‘leeuloop.’ The older generations taught Leo how to dance to YMCA. Oumie and Kobus also showed us some good dance moves.

So, after Carol’s Mimosa Breakfast at Little Rock and this party at Biljoni’s, we can really say Carol celebrated her 60th birthday in style!

Thank you, Carol, that we could spend this special time with you! May this decade be filled with love, joy, laughter and many new happy memories.

The venue looked spectacular! Thank you to Driekie for the tent!
