Glamping at De Krantz

“In glamping, you’ll find the best of both worlds – the beauty of nature and the comforts of home.”

We found an ostrich egg in the middle of the veld!
Braaing wors on the gas. (We also had a real braai the next day.) Here you can also see our tents under the shelter.
Game Drive. ‘Groen-Mamba Jimny’ taking the lead during its first 4×4 debut.

De Krantz is only a 35 minute drive from Ladybrand!

There’s no need to take a tent with because the tents are already all set up under a sheltered area. Each tent also has stretchers and mattresses. The kitchen is fully equipped and each site has its own bathroom. Each site also has its own outside hot tub (or cacoozi like Natey calls it.) The hot tub’s water is heated by making a fire inside it. The water was really, really hot at a stage!

We went for 4×4 game drives in our cars. We spotted many Nguni cows, ostriches, wildebeest and various different kinds of buck. Johan showed us where he stayed when he was young and Alta took us to the different “gate” (holes) she saw on the map. 😜

Natey was scared that this mountain also had screaming baboons like we heard at Koranna the last time we camped. We assured him there were none, but then when night time came there were new scary sounds… wailing jackals and a howling wind! Our tents were very sheltered!

We had a very enjoyable and relaxing weekend. De Krantz is so close to Ladybrand and really a great glamping (glamorous camping) experience! Highly recommended!

Alta spotted this scorpion on the rock
