This sweet potato bake is really delicious and difficult to get wrong.  It’s a tasty side dish to make when having people over for a braai.

It’s made in the oven so it’s not “loadshedding” friendly (fellow South Africans will understand), but when the lights are on it’s so easy to make.

The last time I made this I added slices of butternut inbetween the sweet potato which also worked really well.

There’s not much to it. You need:

1-2 sweet potatoes -sliced (peel them first if you want)
500mls fresh cream
1 sachet white/brown onion soup powder

Place the slices in an oven safe dish.  Mix cream and soup powder together and pour over potatoes.  Cover dish with foil.  Bake in pre-heated oven for 1 hour at 200 degrees Celsius.

“Nou gaan ons braai!!”

Enjoy!:)
