In Memory of Granny

“There are special people in our lives who never leave us… Even after they are gone…”

Today we mourn the passing and also celebrate the life of our Granny Iris.

I’ll remember Granny as a real lady who loved her family, liked to work hard and of course, enjoyed her tennis. It was nice that she was always so happy to see me and that I knew she was proud of me. Like Xanthe posted on Facebook, Granny really did have a very beautiful smile. Her and grandpa made a great team. They were reliable and always willing to help out when needed.

I guess we’ll never really know what made Cecil Clark so memorable to Granny in her later years but we certainly know that any sickness, from the flue to bronchitis to diarrhea and constipation, can all be fixed with a tablespoon of, I’m sure you guessed it, castor oil!

So much changed during her lifetime! 1924 (or was it 1925?) to 2015! She saw everything from the ox-wagon, world war 2 to Ipads and Skype. Quite incredible!

Thank you to you all, especially Aunty Marion, who looked after her and kept her company during the last part of her life.

Her memory and legacy will live on through us.

Granny, we love you. May you now rest in peace. xxx
