Tommy’s Dinosaur Party
“Hold him a little longer, play with him a little more, tell him another story, let him make the dinos roar. Let him sleep on your shoulder, appreciate every smile, he will only be 2 for such a little while.” – adjusted poem
We celebrated Tommy turning 2 in Gqeberha 2 weekends ago. He had a dinosaur themed party… Well, technically a Blippi Dinosaur Party… Because Blippi made an appearance and the colours of the balloons were Blippi.
Last year Imke and Peter arranged their wedding in a week! So organizing a birthday party was easy peasy. Click on the link to see last years pics: Wedding pics and Tommy 1st birthday pics.
The cake, dino cookies, party packs, jumping castle and balloons all made the party extra special and memorable. Those delicious doughnuts that were at their wedding last year were there again, and this time I was sure to grab one before they were all devoured. (At their wedding my kids kept me so busy I only found half a doughnut when I eventually got a chance.)
Marcelle, Tommy’s uncle, was supposed to be Blippi at the party but he had to work away at the last minute so Oup saved the day and dressed up as Blippi. Oup had never even heard of Blippi before this, but we showed him a 5 minute clip on the TV and he pulled off Blippi perfectly! Those moves were brilliant! The kids and adults alike enjoyed Blippi’s appearance. Well done, Oup! Marcus was very keen to be Blippi but the beard might have confused the kids. 🤣
I think Tommy really enjoyed his party. Imke said he woke up that morning saying “two!” Surprisingly, Tommy wasn’t very keen to open presents on his birthday. Everyone was giving him presents but he was too intrigued by the excitement of the day. Leo and Natey were also so spoilt that weekend! They also received presents as if it was their birthdays!
Thanks Pete and Imke! And enjoy being 2, Tommy! Don’t give your parents too much of a hard time.
