Teddy Bear Picnic Party

If you go down to the woods today, you’re in for a big surprise…

Almost a year ago, before we knew about things like Corona and lockdown, we celebrated Natey’s first birthday by having a teddybear picnic party in our garden. Baskets, blankets, balloons and teddybears!

We put out camping chairs for the older folks and blankets on the grass for everyone else. We made some picnic snacks and Ouma Jane brought teddybear cookies.

I made a upright teddybear cake which was quite a challenge… But it ended up tasting delicious and looking fine. The kids enjoyed playing in the garden and we all had a good time. No thoughts about social distancing or wearing masks! This year we will still celebrate… just with a much smaller party… Birthdays need to be celebrated even in 2020.
