About Me

My name is Janny, also known as Jam. I started this blog to stay focused on the joys in life. That’s where “Jam4Joy” comes from.

My family and I live in Ladybrand, a rural town in the Eastern Free State, South Africa.

I love reading, writing, travelling, and being creative. I am constantly researching ways to stay healthy and motivated.

I enjoy playing the piano. Christmas carols are my favourite!

🩺As a medical doctor, I’ve realized through experience that true health encompasses more than just treating physical symptoms with pills.

Don’t get me wrong, sometimes pills and surgical interventions are necessary and life-saving! But not always.💊

True health is about nurturing the mind, body, and soul. Sometimes, a cure might not be possible, but healing can still take place. Healing is about moving towards wholeness.

I believe that through lifestyle changes, mindset adjustments, nutrition, creativity, movement, and modern tools, we can reconnect with ourselves, with nature and with each other.

🌿By reconnecting, we discover deeper healing, which makes ordinary life more joyful.🌿

Medicine is not only a science; it is also an art. It does not consist of compounding pills and plasters; it deals with the very processes of life, which must be understood before they may be guided.
