Week 6 – Thankful for Clouds
“We mostly see what we have learned to expect to see.“
“Clouds in the sky very much resemble the thoughts in our minds! Both changes perpetually from one second to another!”
– Mehmet Murat Ildan.
“Seeing familiar objects or patterns in otherwise random or unrelated objects or patterns is called pareidolia.” (Thanks, Robert!)
I didn’t realize there was a word for that! I do tend to see animals, people and faces in clouds, tiles or any random thing. Luckily, this is a normal phenomenon, although it seems some people have a greater tendency to do this than others.
This week was fun looking for interesting clouds and sharing what everyone sees in the clouds. Clouds are quite fascinating and change so quickly. They can also symbolize our thoughts and moods.
Clouds are fascinating and they are very important for the survival of our planet. We often forget to be thankful for something so simple (yet so complex) as clouds.
